With just under 30 hours actually in Bristol (including sleeping!) the choir packed a lot into their short stay.

The concerts took place on Saturday afternoon in St Mary Redcliffe and Sunday afternoon at St Stephen’s Church where the choir performed excerpts from Rutter’s ‘Magnificat and other British choral works. The MD, George Salmon, also amazed us with a powerful solo performance of Finzi and Elgar! The setting, choir performance and audiences in both venues were just perfect.

Other activities which the group thoroughly enjoyed included a 3-course meal on the Saturday evening in Bristol’s longest established Chinese restaurant Cathay Rendez-vous and private boat tour of Bristol with the Bristol Packet Boat Trip Company

All in all a fantastic trip which was enjoyed by everyone and an absolute pleasure on our part to assist with their overall organisation!

Testimonial – ‘

‘Care and attention to detail of the highest degree. The planning with Jo Porter was detailed and meticulous, with nothing being missed, and although she was not involved in the accommodation arrangements, she nevertheless checked it out and acted as an intermediary.

Both venues were carefully planned and their personnel and amenities generally very well prepared for the choir. The printed publicity, both the flyers and the A4 posters, were again very professionally-produced and of high quality. That fact, plus the contacts which Jo made with local choirs and other people, helped to ensure a very healthy audience at both venues.’ – Robin Spencer, Phoenix Choir of Crawley
