In the height of Summer 2025, ReSound Community Choir set out to the breathtaking city of Salzburg, Austria for a magical musical trip!
ReSound Community Choir, a wonderful group from the North-West of England, enjoy performing a wide variety of show tunes under the musical direction of Sarah Monteith; including songs from The Sound of Music, which was exactly what made this tour particularly special.
On their day of arrival, ReSound spent the afternoon familiarising themselves with the stunning sights of Salzburg, and what would be their home for the next few days, concluding with a lovely evening meal. The following day, it was time for some real sightseeing, as the group boarded a scenic boat cruise across Lake Wolfgangsee departing from St Gilgan. With some charming stops along the way, the cruise ended in St Wolfgang and left everyone feeling truly joyous having seen Salzburg in all its beauty.
Soon enough, it was concert day! At one of our favourite venues of all time, ReSound performed an open air concert in Mirabell Gardens, the location of the ‘Do-Re-Mi’ scene in The Sound of Music film! Delighting crowds with songs from The Sound of Music, performed in the heart of Salzburg was a magical experience and a memory to keep close to our hearts for a lifetime.
With Baron Peter von Wertheim (a direct descendant of Captain Von Trapp’s first wife!) as their tour guide, ReSound spent their final morning retracing the steps of The Sound of Music film locations, which could not have been a better way to explore this amazing city.
It was a truly magical trip in such a stunning place with such wonderful people and music, and of course very exciting to head a bit further afield for a Sound Escapes tour!
