Dales, Ale and Rail

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is famous for its wonderful scenery and stunning meandering landscapes.

Explore Bolton Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned, Aysgarth Falls and Hardraw Scar Waterfall (film location for Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves), Askrigg (film location for All Creatures Great and Small TV series), the conservation village of Arncliffe, The Oldest Sweetshop in the World at Pateley Bridge and the traditional Dales Market Town of Hawes, where you will have the opportunity to visit the award winning Wensleydale Creamery, the home of Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese.

No trip to Yorkshire would be complete without sampling a craft ale or two and a visit to the Black Sheep Brewery allows you to see where this prized ale is produced as well as sample the goods.

Set off on a journey powered by steam, the 30-minute journey through the picturesque setting of the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam railway is a perfect way to sample the delights of the Yorkshire Dales.
