The Church of the Holy Rude, situated adjacent to the hilltop castle of historic Stirling was the coronation site of the infant James VI of Scotland (later James I of England) following the forced abdication of his tragic mother, Mary Queen of Scots. The stunning nave still has its original medieval oak beamed roof intact.
